WHAT YOU VISIT
Temple of the Big Buddha - Situated on small, rocky Fan Island, the wat has become a major meditation center for local residents and foreign visitors. The temple centre piece is a massive, 39 foot high Sitting Buddha erected in 1972.

Wat Plai Laem - Once part of the Big Buddha Temple, Wat Plai Laem is home to a superb statue of Kwan Yin (or Guanjin), the 18 armed Buddhist avatar of Mercy.

Coconut Plantation - For centuries, monkeys have been trained to harvest the ripe fruit in Samui's coconut plantations. Here, view a demonstration of this ancient art as the monkeys scale coconut palms to pluck coconuts for their handlers.

Chaweng Beach - Ko Samui's most popular beach boasts powdery white sand and crystalline waters. Approximately two hours of free time are available to swim, sunbathe, beach comb, or shop.

Browse the gift shops at Big Buddha Temple. The local vendors at Chaeweng Beach offer local handicrafts and souvenirs.

LUNCH

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
Board your air-conditioned motorcoach at Nathorn Pier and set off on the approximately 45 minute drive to Big Buddha Temple. The landscape of Ko Samui's coastal plain includes lush rice paddies, small villages, and rubber and coconut plantations.

Passengers at Big Buddha Temple and Plai Laem Temple are required to climb a number of stairs.

Wear conservative attire when visiting sacred sites. Clothing must cover the shoulders, arms, and knees. Footwear must be removed before entering temple halls.

Bring your swimsuit, a towel, and adequate sun protection.
